This piece is informed by data recorded within the fitness app that I use to monitor progress in the gym. In keeping with the data source, all sound materials were derived from recordings of a singular dumbbell, which were then processed using data-informed transformations within Max MSP. The resultant textures and sonic materials formed the basis for the structure and spectral content of this piece, which were then accentuated through the creation of additional gestural material and sonic detailing.
